Managing Up, Feedback & Delegation
Setting Clear Expectations with Confidence
Building practical communication skills to strengthen collaboration, empower others, and lead effectively in every direction.
Overview
Leadership isn’t only about managing people below you—it’s also about how you manage across and up. This program helps leaders and high-potential professionals communicate with clarity and confidence so they can influence outcomes without micromanaging or overextending themselves.
Participants learn to express expectations, give and receive feedback with empathy, and delegate effectively—creating the trust, transparency, and ownership needed for teams to thrive.
Program Flow: Discover → Activity → Introspection
1. Discover
Leaders examine how communication styles and mindset shape their relationships with managers, peers, and team members. Through reflection and discussion, they identify their default approach to feedback and delegation—and where misalignment tends to occur.
2. Activity
Participants practice real-world scenarios such as giving upward feedback, saying “no” gracefully, and assigning work without losing accountability. They apply simple, repeatable scripts for clear communication, managing expectations, and building mutual trust.
3. Introspection
Leaders reflect on the balance between being helpful and being effective. They identify behaviors to start, stop, and enhance to create more empowered, collaborative working relationships.
Key Outcomes
Improved clarity and confidence when communicating with senior leaders and team members
Stronger feedback culture and psychological safety
Increased delegation effectiveness and time optimization
